Smyrna Development Society (SDS) is a non-profit, non-political National charitable organization, established on the September 14th 2002, began its journey with commitment, specially for ameliorating the life conditions of the poor, oppressed, distressed and downtrodden at the lower level of the society including women and children rescued from the clutch of the traffickers as well, through initiating and implementing various sorts of projects and programs in Bangladesh.
Pastor Alfred Biplob Biswas is the founder and General Secretary of SDS and his wife Mrs. Cicilia Biswas is the Co-founder of the organization. The organization was first registered with the Joint Stock Company and Firms, Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh under the Certificate of Registration No: S-3412(201) of 2003, thereafter it has also been registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau (Govt.) under certificate no 2523 dated December 22nd 2009 to receive Foreign Aid and utilize it for operating Voluntary Social Welfare activities in Bangladesh.
